Website replaces NCC e-newsletter

The Northland Community Council's new website takes the place of an electronic newsletter sent out last year on a quarterly basis, Secretary Brandon L. Boos announced at last week's monthly meeting.

Maintaining both was simply too much work for one volunteer, according to Boos, who is that volunteer.

The website,, which is still undergoing tweaks, updates, revisions and additions, simply took priority over the newsletter, he said, although anyone interested in taking over the latter should feel free to contact him.

The new site, which replaces the long-static one at, is "coming along well," Boos told NCC representatives.

He indicated he was particularly gratified about the member organizations providing community profiles for the site. These are intended, he added, to "give a sense of what makes each of our communities special and unique."

One of the new website's features that Boos said he hopes more member organizations will take advantage of is a calendar. While the main purpose is to highlight NCC meetings and events, the activities of any civic association belonging to the council can easily be incorporated as a means of supporting what the neighborhood groups are doing.
