Event to focus on immigrant stories

"Welcoming the Stranger," a public event that will feature stories of the U.S. immigration process, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Vineyard Columbus, 6000 Cooper Road.

In addition to stories from immigrants themselves, the event will feature a panel of guests including Troy Jackson, from Ohio Prophetic Voices, a coalition of Ohio clergy committed to social justice and, from World Relief, Matt Soerens, author of Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion & Truth in the Immigration Debate.

Vineyard Columbus Senior Pastor Rich Nathan will interview the panel and also talk briefly about immigration from an evangelical perspective.

Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions of the panel and connect directly with faith groups working to welcome immigrants and promote a path to citizenship.
