Northland: Bank account looted of $1,400

A Faircrest Road woman, 58, told police at 2:20 p.m. July 19 that she had let her landscaper and his girlfriend live in her basement for three weeks and she believes they stole her bank card and took $1,400 out of her savings account.

The woman said she had already evicted the couple from her home.

According to police reports, she believes the card was taken when she was in the hospital for a few days. The card was used to withdraw $500 on July 5 and then $300 twice on July 8 and once again July 9.

In other Northland-area police reports:

* A woman reported at 10:48 a.m. July 16 that her vehicle had been broken into while it was parked on Ironwood Court. The woman, a resident of Cleveland Avenue, said the break-in took place between 7 p.m. July 15 and 9:30 a.m. July 16. A $2,500 flat-screen television and a $1,200 laptop computer were removed from the car, which sustained $150 in damage.
