Northland Community Council President Emmanuel V. Remy is hoping 2014 brings an even stronger organization to represent the neighborhood.
In an email outlining goals for the year, Remy indicated this would help to strengthen the entire community.
His plan is to recruit more neighborhood organizations to swell the ranks of the NCC, which is made up of civic associations and other entities serving the area. Remy also hopes to bring new people into leadership positions within the NCC.
"We have a strong organization currently, but it certainly could be stronger," Remy wrote. "Every organization needs some sort of cultivation of leadership in order to continue to thrive.
"I am looking forward to working with our leadership team to bolster what we are already doing and look for opportunities to expand on future possibilities."
He said he also believes 2014 will bring more development to the area.
"I plan to work closely with developers, city administrators and City Council to further improve on the viability of Northland," Remy wrote.
