For the second year in a row, the North YMCA will be the community partner for the Northland Area Business Association's annual fundraising golf event.
This marks the first time a nonprofit organization has been selected to receive a portion of the proceeds from the Golf-a-Rama two years in a row.
The 10th edition of the business group's major fundraiser will be held at York Golf Club in September.
NABA President Dave Cooper said one of the trustees made the nomination at a board meeting last week, and the motion was unanimously approved, making the local Y the community partner.
"We look forward to working with them and helping them," Cooper said.
In December, when the election of officers for NABA during 2014 was held and Cooper returned to the president's post, he presented North YMCA Executive Director Marci Hasty with a check for $1,290 from the previous September's Golf-a-Rama.
With the community partner chosen, Cooper said he can begin working on brochures for the golf outing, which will include applications for sponsorships and registration for golfers.
