For the second time in as many months and the first time in his recollection, Northland Community Council development committee Chairman Dave Paul canceled the advisory panel's April meeting.
There simply weren't any cases to consider, according to Paul.
"I don't really think it's a trend," he said. "I think it's a coincidence of sorts. It probably has something to do with the time of year."
Paul added that he was certain cancellations for lack of rezoning or variance requests have happened twice in a row in years past, although not since he became chairman in 2011.
"I don't really think this is a portent of any sort of decreased development or redevelopment in the area," he said. "I just think it's the way things happened to work out in terms of applications."
He indicated that he has been contacted regarding a number of projects over the past several months, but applications for them have not yet been submitted to city officials, who pass them along to the committee.
"I know there are things in the pipeline," Paul said. "They just haven't gotten to us.
"As far as I know, we will be meeting in May, but I don't have a case on the agenda as yet."
