St. Francis DeSales High School senior Michael Swaggerty of Northland was selected to receive Ohio State University's Morrill Scholars Program Excellence Scholarship.
The amount of the scholarship is the value of in-state tuition and covers up to 18 hours per semester. The Excellence Scholarship is renewable for eight undergraduate semesters of full-time enrollment, provided that a grade point average of at least 3.0 is maintained.
Swaggerty also will have the opportunity to participate in academic enrichment experiences such as study abroad, undergraduate research, career development and professional/graduate school preparation.
Swaggerty's application also has been submitted to the next round of reviews. The winner of the Morrill Scholars Program premier award will receive the Distinction Scholarship.
