DeSales High School senior football player Nick Gentile has verbally committed to play for Air Force, according to Stallions coach Ryan Wiggins.
Gentile started at quarterback for DeSales the last two seasons, including in 2009 when the Stallions were the Division III state runner-up. Gentile could spend time at cornerback with the Falcons.
Last season, Gentile finished 46-for-121 passing for 650 yards with three touchdowns and seven interceptions and made special mention all-district.
Gentile also received an offer to play for the Citadel. He is among three DeSales players who are expected to announce official commitments to Division I colleges Feb. 2, along with Chris Rock (Michigan) and Evan Kendrick (Navy).
