Tia Jameson has been selected as the new girls basketball coach at Eastmoor Academy, according to Warriors athletics director Eric Music.

A 2001 Eastmoor graduate, Jameson has served as an assistant at Hartley, Eastmoor Middle School and Westerville Central and most recently at Africentric, Music said.

Jameson was among 150 applicants for the vacancy, which came open when Jim Miranda resigned to take over the Eastmoor boys basketball coaching vacancy late in the spring.

Among the applicants, according to Music, were several current and former head coaches.

"She played at Eastmoor and she was the best interviewer we had for the position," Music said.

Under Miranda, the Warriors had won six consecutive Division II district championships before they lost to Jonathan Alder 58-42 in a district final March 3. In 2005, Eastmoor fell to Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit 43-40 in the state championship game.
