Older adult issues to be forum focus

Syntero/Northwest Counseling Services will offer the ninth annual Educational Forum on Older Adult Issues from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Meadow Park Church of God, 2425 Bethel Road.

This free event is open to any interested community member. The forum will include a continental breakfast, resource displays and two speakers.

Michele Stokes, Ph.D,, the director of Senior Health Services at OhioHealth, John J. Gerlach Center for Senior Health, will present "Senior Sleep -- Changes as We Age."

James P. Fulop, M.D., a specialist in neurology and sleep disorders medicine at Riverside Methodist Hospitals, will present "Senior Sleep: Disorders and Treatment."

Resource displays will include local programs and businesses aimed at older adults, including health care, community services, assisted living and housing options.

The event is suited for older adults, family caregivers and professionals; 2.0 continuing educational units will be offered for social workers and counselors.
