Columbus City Schools encourages parents of children entering kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year to register in April or May.

The district offers full-day kindergarten at all elementary schools. To attend kindergarten, a child must be at least 5 years old on Sept. 30, 2014.

To register for the 2014-2015 school year, visit the Central Enrollment Center located at 430 Cleveland Ave. Its phone number is 614-365-4011.

Requirements for the registration process include

* Photo identification of the parent or guardian;

* Proof of child's date of birth, such as a birth certificate or immigration documents;

* Proof of residency, such as a recent utility bill in the parent's name; current lease with parent's name and name/telephone number of landlord; verification of address from Department of Human Services, Social Security or personnel office of parent's employer; or statement from landlord (on letterhead) indicating knowledge of parent living with person on lease;

* Custody/guardianship documents (if applicable);

* Child's immunization record. Immunizations can be obtained through the child's health care provider or the Columbus Health Department. Go to www.odh.ohio.gov for more information about immunization requirements. A tuberculosis test is required of students born outside the United States or have visited another country for more than three months.
