The next production for Carriage Place Theatre is a comedy with a Grimm sense of humor.
Have I Got a Story will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 11.
All performances are in the Columbus Performing Arts Center, 549 Franklin Ave.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children and senior citizens.
The play involves a group of children who go to a camp called "Grimmnada," according to Carriage Place recreational program assistant and troupe founder John Heisel.
Sitting around the campfire, instead of telling the usual ghost stories, the campers tell tales based on the works of the famous Brothers Grimm.
"The young performers and I have created the script from the ground up, which is very exciting," Heisel said.
"Some of their choices kind of shook me," he said.
"We're not doing the Disney version here, but we're having fun with them and making them very funny."
The play is a youth performances intended for ages 7 to 18.
Members of the cast include:
Jaden Allen, Hannah Allen, Libby Baker, Ava Baker, Owen Billeter, Joseph Crump, Jonathan Crump, Maggy Hamen, Benito Montoto, Marco-Marcil Montoto, Treya Moore and Rohan Vernekar.
Some of the performers were in Carriage Place Theatre's production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe while others are friends of cast members from that play, Heisel said.
"It's a very community, communal, 'let's have fun' kind of thing," he added.
Next up for the community center-based company will be Into the Woods, a play for teens and adults, to be presented July 18-20 at Grandview Heights High School.
