The Delaware County District Library on Sunday will host community theatre troupe The Curtain Players as they present an adaptation of "The Great Gatsby."

The Delaware County District Library on Sunday will host community theatre troupe The Curtain Players as they present an adaptation of "The Great Gatsby."

The performance will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at Powell's Village Green Amphitheater, 47 Hall St.

The actors will be in 1920s period costume.

Those attending are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and picnics.

This event and parking is free.

The adaptation presentation is one of the programs in a series of events tied to the month-long "The Big Read: DelawaREADS: The Great Gatsby" celebration going on now through May 10.

The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services, designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture.

The Curtain Players have been a staple for 45 years in central Ohio and have been the recipients of several awards for their productions and quality.
