Baldwin-Wallace junior Ariel Brough, an Olentangy Liberty graduate, was named Academic All-OAC in women's basketball. Brough, who earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV honors in February, is a member of the school's honors program and is a political science major with a 3.96 GPA. Junior Elizabeth DeRoy, an Olentangy Liberty graduate, is playing for the Otterbein women's golf team this season.

Olentangy High School is selling athletics activity passes for all Olentangy, Shanahan Middle School and Hyatts Middle School athletics events except for tournaments. Who was the best high-school athlete in central Ohio during the winter sports season? Viewers of Time Warner Cable will get to decide.

Time Warner and ThisWeek Community Newspapers have teamed up for the first Athlete of the Season competition. ThisWeek selected the top performers in nine sports, and those nine will be featured on Time Warner Cable Local On Demand Channel 1111 from now until April 15. The athlete who receives the most votes will win $500 for his or her school's athletics boosters. Each view is worth one vote.

The nine athletes are: Northland's Jared Sullinger (boys basketball), Pickerington Central's Emilee Harmon (girls basketball), Westerville North's Josh Demas (wrestling), Olentangy Liberty's Doug Kouskouris (hockey), Dublin Coffman's Hailey Fairchild (gymnastics), Upper Arlington's Eric Huffman (boys swimming), Watterson's Gracie Finnegan (girls swimming), Pickerington North's Ryan Gorring (boys bowling) and Westerville Central's Mary Wells (girls bowling).

Zenith is offering a volleyball academy from April 5 through May 17 at Dublin Jerome High School for boys and girls grades 3-12. Course last five days and will focus on high level skill instruction as taught by Steven Hinds. Hinds is currently an assistant for the Capital women's volleyball team.
