The Greater Powell Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2010 Citizens of the Year are three Olentangy High School DECA students.

Nick Cameron, Joe Grandominico and Luke Vouis developed the chamber's Facebook page as a DECA project. The three attended a board meeting to introduce the page, explain how it works and demonstrate how to use it. At a chamber luncheon, Cameron presented the program "The Professional Side of Facebook," and picked up 10 businesses interested in their own pages.

The three students will present their Facebook project at a national competition.

Named the chamber's Business Person of the Year was Darrah Courter of ADM Benefit Plans Agency Inc.

In addition to volunteering many hours at chamber events, Courter was the guest speaker at two "Lunch and Learn" programs on the professional uses of social media. She also was the primary coordinator of restaurant participation in the April 29 Taste of Powell event.

Cameron, Grandominico, Vouis and Courter will be honored at a May 11 Business After Hours event at Local Roots restaurant in Powell. All four honorees also will ride in Powell's Memorial Day parade on May 31.
