The event is open to all Chamber members and guests. The event will benefit the GPACC and its programs.

The deadline to register is Monday, June 7. Space is limited; only the first 72 players to sign up will be accepted.

The Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio will hold its 2010 Memorial Day Powwow Saturday through Monday, May 29-31, at Franklin County Fairgrounds, 4100 Columbia St. in Hilliard.

The event will feature Native American dancing, art, food and music and also honors United States veterans.

Gates will open at 11 a.m. each day. A grand entry of all dancers will be held at 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 1 and 5 p.m. Monday.

Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for seniors and children, with those under age 3 admitted free.

The third annual "Golf Bowl Classic" to benefit Huntington's Disease Society of America will be held Monday, June 7.

Participants will begin their day with a 1 p.m. shotgun start for a four-person scramble/best ball 18-hole game at the Heritage Golf Course, 3525 Heritage Club Drive, Hilliard.

Bowling, awards and dinner will follow at Ten Pin Alley and Spike's, 5499 Constitution Blvd., Hilliard. Complimentary bowling will be offered all night for donations given at the door to support HDSA.

The cost per golf participant is $120, including 18 holes of golf, lunch, dinner and bowling. During the party, a drawing will be held for a 50-50 cash raffle and a grand prize of four tickets to the Dave Matthews Band concert on June 22.

Prizes will be awarded for the best golfers and bowlers.

This year's fundraiser is in memory of Phillip Hess, a teacher and coach at Columbus Academy, who died from complications of Huntington's Disease in June 2008. Dave Hess, Phillip's son, is also affected by the disease.

New Directions Career Center, 199 E. Rich St., is offering scholarships for individuals interested in participating in the center's core career development program in June.

These classes operate on a sliding fee scale. NDCC is a nonprofit organization that assists individuals regardless of their ability to pay.

The "New Directions" class is a four-week program exclusively for women. It will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 2-25.

"Creating Career Options" is open to men and women seeking new ways to use their professional experience. The class will meet from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 21, through Wednesday, June 23, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 26.

"Advanced Career Technologies" is designed for individuals seeking information on résumé development, job search strategies, interviewing skills and salary negotiation methods. It will meet from 5 to 9 p.m. June 28-30.

The Dr. Kvitko Golf Classic will be held Saturday, July 1, at Bent Tree Golf Club in Sunbury and Royal American Links in Galena.

The tournament benefits Golf for Life, a program sponsored by the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio. Golf for Life provides one-on-one golf instruction by PGA professionals to children and adults with Down syndrome.

In recent years, DSACO held three separate tournaments. This year, the three have been rolled into one, named after Dr. Brian Kvitko, a Clintonville dentist and longtime supporter of DSACO.

Entry fees are $100 per person or $400 per team before June 1, or $125 per person or $500 per team after June 1. Hole sponsorships are $100. Fee includes breakfast, steak lunch, beer/beverages, green fees and cart.
