The series is Sept. 5 and 6 at Ohio Stadium with doubleheaders taking place on both days. All four games will be televised live on ESPN or ESPNU. On Sept. 5, Dublin Coffman plays Westerville South in the first game and Huber Heights Wayne plays Canton McKinley in the second game. On Sept. 6, Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) William T. Dwyer plays Cleveland Glenville in the first game and Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Frommel Smith plays Pickerington Central in the second game.

A new club hockey team is being formed for players from Columbus schools, private and parochial schools within Columbus, or those residing in Columbus.

Northwest Hockey Club was granted this area by the Greater Columbus High School Club Hockey League.

The third annual Gridiron Classic has announced the matchups for this season. On Friday, Westerville North plays at Worthington Kilbourne at 7 p.m. and Hilliard Bradley plays at Dublin Scioto at 7:30 p.m. Westerville South plays at Groveport at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. On Sept. 3, Hilliard Darby plays at Dublin Jerome at 7 p.m. and Brookhaven plays at Hilliard Davidson at 7:30 p.m.

Galena United Methodist Church (GUMC) members are organizing the "Moving with the Spirit" 5K Race/Walk event to raise money to benefit local mission projects.

GUMC and other sponsors are encouraging runners and walkers to join them for a 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk on Saturday. There is also a kids race.

The event will start at the church, proceed through a gated community and finish at the church. The 5K event starts at 9 a.m. and the kids event starts at 10 a.m. Participants may pre-register online at or in person on race day from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. The first 100 registrants will receive a pair of Ecco socks. All participants will receive a race packet and each child will receive a race number and a winner's ribbon.

The Columbus Coralina Synchronized Swimming Club is offering a Try Synchro for Free Day from 2-4 p.m. on Sept. 25 for ages 7 and up at New Albany High School Natatorium, located at 7600 Fodor Road, New Albany.
