The Olentangy Relay for Life team needs volunteers to help run a charity hockey tournament this weekend.

The group will host the fourth annual Hockey Beats Down Cancer tournament, set Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 23-26, at OhioHealth Chiller Easton, 3600 Chiller Lane in Columbus.

The event is an amateur hockey tournament for adults. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society to fund cancer research, education and advocacy.

Volunteers can sign up to work Saturday during Family Fun Day. Alongside tournament hockey games, the day will feature free open skating, live music, a beer garden, food, games, inflatable bounce houses, a silent auction and more.

Columbus Blue Jackets player Ryan Johansen will be on hand for Family Fun Day, signing autographs.

"There's a lot of fun stuff going on at this event," said Olentangy Relay for Life member Jill Simpson.

Volunteers can sign up to work specific time slots Saturday supervising the bounce house, running broomball games, working concessions or selling beer.

Also needed are volunteers to run the time clock during hockey games over the weekend.
