Officers find slashed tires after alarm sounds


Powell police officers responded to a burglary alarm at 12:16 a.m. Dec. 21 at a residence in the 200 block of Glen Village Court.

No suspect was located, but it was discovered that three tires had been slashed on a vehicle parked outside the residence, according to reports.

A Powell resident reported an attempted burglary between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 21 at his residence in the 200 block of Weatherburn Court.

Someone apparently tried to break into the house, with damages to a door and door frame estimated at $900, police reports said.

A stop sign was reported missing from the intersection of Wildflower and Village Club drives between 10 p.m. Dec. 21 and 9 a.m. Dec. 22.

Sheriff's reports

Jewelry worth $5,000 was stolen between Nov. 17 and Dec. 1 from a residence in the 2600 block of Aikin Circle in Lewis Center, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.

The victim reported someone stole multiple bracelets and necklaces.

Tools worth about $400 were stolen between 11:30 p.m. Dec. 18 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 19 from a residence in the 4200 block of Marilyn Drive in Lewis Center, reports said.

An unknown thief took a drill, two circular saws and a flashlight, according to reports.

Property worth $120 was stolen between 10 p.m. Dec. 18 and 8:15 a.m. Dec. 19 from a vehicle parked outside of a residence in the 2700 block of Griffin Drive in Lewis Center, reports said.

Stolen items included a pair of shoes, cologne and $6 in cash.

A Lewis Center man residing in the 2200 block of Parklawn Drive re-ported someone used his personal information to make fraudulent purchases totaling $974 between 8 a.m. and 3:22 p.m. Dec. 20.
