Thief damages sign, makes off with documents

Someone broke into a Powell business in the first block of North Liberty Street, stealing documents and damaging property, between 2 p.m. Jan. 15 and 9:45 a.m. Jan. 16, Powell police reported.

According to reports, the suspect forced entry, causing $700 in damages to several doors.

Once inside, the suspect stole various legal documents and checks, reports said.

A sign outside the business also reportedly was damaged during the incident.

A Powell resident said someone stole her birth certificate and several gift cards from her vehicle between 8:30 p.m. Jan. 13 and 6:30 a.m. Jan. 14 while the car was parked in the 500 block of Village Park Drive in Powell.

Sheriff's reports

Property worth $6,080 was stolen between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Jan. 12 from a residence in the 10000 block of Stoneham Drive in Powell, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.

The victim said someone forced entry and stole various pieces of jewelry, include three rings and several necklaces; a tablet computer; an MP3 player and $80 in cash.

Two designer handbags, together worth $1,724, were stolen between 2:16 and 2:28 a.m. Jan. 1 from a residence in the 2500 block of Sandhurst Drive in Lewis Center, reports said.

A total of $500 in cash was stolen between midnight and 8:47 a.m. Jan. 8 from a car parked outside a residence in the 3100 block of Brentwood Court in Powell, according to reports.

The victim said someone broke out the rear driver's-side window of the vehicle, with damages estimated at $400, and stole the money.

An unknown vandal damaged security lights, with damages estimated $500, between noon Jan. 5 and noon Jan. 7 in the 6800 block of Snapdragon Way in Lewis Center, reports said.

A Lewis Center woman said someone damaged her car door by shooting it with a BB gun between 7:30 a.m. Jan. 4 and 7 p.m. Jan. 4 while it was parked outside her residence in the 4300 block of McNamara Place.

Damages were estimated at $500, according to reports.

Merchandise worth $156 reportedly was stolen between 7:30 and 8:24 p.m. Jan. 7 from a business in the 8600 block of Columbus Pike in Lewis Center.

Stolen items include a slow cooker, towels and exercise equipment, reports said.

A Lewis Center woman said someone smashed out a driver's-side window on her vehicle, with damages estimated at $500, at midnight Jan. 7 while it was parked outside her residence in the 3000 block of Laurel Wind Boulevard.
