Olentangy Local School District Assistant Treasurer Todd Johnson will become the district's temporary finance chief.

At a regular meeting set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, the school board plans to appoint Johnson as interim treasurer for the period of Feb. 4 through May 31.

Treasurer Rebecca Jenkins resigned this month to join the New Albany-Plain Local School District.

If the appointment is approv-ed, Johnson will earn a stipend of $2,500 per month in addition to his current salary of $89,127.60.

School board members said they would work with a search firm to identify candidates to fill the position permanently.

It remains to be seen if Johnson will be selected as one of those candidates.

At a recent school board meeting, board member Dave King said the district was fortunate to have Johnson because he honed his skills under Jenkins.
