Lewis Center construction site plundered twice

A Lewis Center construction site was hit by thieves twice over the last few weeks, with thousands of dollars worth of equipment reported stolen.

Twelve spools of wire, together worth $4,800, were reported stolen between midnight and 6 a.m. Feb. 28 from the site in the 7200 block of Graphics Way, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.

In the second incident, 200 feet of metal cables and a saw, together worth $1,106, were reported stolen between midnight and 7 a.m. March 2 from the same construction site.

In other recent sheriff's reports:

* A diamond ring worth $3,000 was stolen between Dec. 20 and Feb. 20 from a residence in the 3800 block of Sandstone Circle in Powell, reports said.

* Electronics worth $3,495 were stolen between 2 p.m. Jan. 26 and 8:45 p.m. Feb. 10 from a business in the 8600 block of Columbus Pike in Lewis Center, according to reports.

Stolen items include a tablet computer and five cellphones.

* A wheelbarrow worth $180 was reported stolen between 12:28 and 1:28 a.m. Feb. 23 from a residence in the 9600 block of South Old State Road in Lewis Center.

The victim reported someone forced entry into the residence, with damages to a door estimated at $100.

* A video receiver worth $177 was stolen between 10:13 and 10:37 p.m. Feb. 20 from a residence in the 2800 block of Woodstone Drive in Lewis Center, reports said.

* Eight video games, together worth $159, were stolen about 4:48 p.m. Feb. 16 from a business in the 8600 block of Columbus Pike in Lewis Center, according to reports.

* Clothing worth $100 was stolen about 3:45 p.m. Feb. 2 from a business in the first block of Meadow Park Avenue in Lewis Center, reports said.

The thief took multiple shirts and fled without paying, according to reports.

* A burglary was reported between 1:30 and 2:49 p.m. Feb. 26 at a residence in the 5800 block of Ketch Street in Lewis Center, the sheriff's office said.

* A Lewis Center man reported someone smashed out his vehicle's window between 10 p.m. Feb. 25 and 8:08 a.m. Feb. 26 while the vehicle was parked in the 5300 block of Meadow Bend Drive.
