Youth Philharmonic of Central Ohio, Spring Concert, 7:30 p.m. April 1, in the Fritsche Theatre at Cowan Hall on the campus of Otterbein University, 30 S. Grove St. in Westerville. The concert will feature selections from Les Miserables and Pirates of the Caribbean. Also on the program is a string piece written by one of the musicians with arrangements for winds by another musician. Graduating seniors from the orchestra will be honored. The 12th annual Ohio Botanical Symposium, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 5, at Villa Milano, 1630 Schrock Road. Event sponsors include the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Nature Conservancy and Ohio State University. Keynote speaker Robert F. Naczi, curator of North American Botany at the New York Botanical Garden, will present "The Flora of Northeastern U.S. and Adjacent Canada." Other speakers include David Brandenburg of the Dawes Arboretum and Eric Burkhart of Penn State University. The symposium will also feature a multi-media show and displays from a variety of private and public conservation organizations and vendors. Women's Board of the Columbus Museum of Art, 20th Anniversary Decorators' Show House, April 23 through May 12, at 21 S. Parkview Ave. in Bexley. The event kicks off with a 1920s themed Preview Party, Roaring into the Show House 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. April 20.
