New pastor named at St. Joan of Arc Church

The Rev. James P. Black has been named pastor of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 10700 Liberty Road, Powell.

A Columbus native, Black is a Wehrle High School graduate. He earned a bachelor's degree from Franklin University and a master's from the Pontifical College Josephinum. His ordination to the priesthood was in June 1988 at St. Joseph Cathedral, Columbus, by Bishop James A. Griffin.

Black has served as associate pastor at St. Matthew Church in Gahanna, St. Catharine Church in Columbus and St. Joseph Cathedral, and as pastor of St. Peter Church in Chillicothe and St. Mary Church in Delaware. He has also served as chaplain at Bishop Hartley High School.
