Powell area: Guns, appliances stolen in series of burglaries

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office has responded to a slew of burglary reports in recent weeks.

Five guns were stolen between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. April 5 during a burglary at a residence in the 2300 block of Lexington Drive in Powell, the sheriff's office said.

An AR-15 assault rifle, a .44-caliber revolver and two semiautomatic pistols are among the stolen guns, reports said.

Another burglary was reported to have taken place between 5:56 and 7:40 a.m. April 6 at a residence in the 200 block of Walnut Boulevard in Lewis Center, the sheriff's office said.

The victim reported someone forced open a door to gain entry, with damages estimated at $200, and stole two leather jackets.

Electronics worth $5,205 were stolen between 4 and 10 p.m. April 8 during a break-in at a residence in the 3800 block of Coral Creek Court in Powell, according to reports.

Stolen items include two cameras and a tablet computer.

Appliances and furniture, together worth $3,000, were stolen between 8 a.m. March 15 and 7 a.m. April 10 from a residence in the 8000 block of Cranes Crossing in Lewis Center, the sheriff's office said.

Someone forced entry and stole a washer, dryer and china cabinet, according to reports.

Finally, an MP3 player, a purse and $40 cash were stolen between 9:50 and 11:11 p.m. April 13 during a burglary at a residence in the 8900 block of Lake Ridge Drive in Lewis Center, reports said.

In other recent reports from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office:

* The front passenger-side window of a vehicle was smashed out of a vehicle between 3 and 3:58 a.m. April 11 while it was parked in the 10500 block of Stoneham Drive in Powell, the sheriff's office said.

The victim reported someone broke out the window, then stole his wallet from inside the vehicle.

* A total of $800 in cash was reported stolen between 8 a.m. March 18 and 1 p.m. April 5 from a residence in the 9200 block of Frabell Drive in Powell, reports said.

Powell

A speed limit sign and post valued at $300 was stolen between 9 p.m. April 14 and 10:47 a.m. April 15 from the corner of Ashmoore Drive and Bettendorf Circle in Powell, according to Powell police reports.

Also, a driver's-side window was smashed out of a vehicle between 7 p.m. April 20 and 5:45 p.m. April 21 while the car was parked in the 400 block of Zion Drive in Powell, police said.
