Events and programs

Delaware County 4-H Committee, third annual Fore for 4-H Golf Outing, June 23, at Bent Tree Golf Club in Sunbury. The event includes 18 holes of golf, complimentary snacks, goody bag, a silent auction and a Legacy Dinner. In addition, golfers will have the chance to win $25,000 via a Hole In One Contest. Proceeds benefit youth in Delaware County through scholarships, awards and educational materials. Players and sponsors may pick up registration information at the Ohio State University Extension Office, 149 N. Sandusky St.

AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Classes, workshops

Columbus Sail and Power Squadron, "Trailering-For Women Only," part of the United States Power Squadron University seminar series, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11 at 8492 Cotter St., Lewis Center. This program covers state and local trailering regulations and requirements regarding brakes and hook-ups for safety chains. Fee is $15 for USPS members, $25 for nonmembers. Lunch is included. Council for Older Adults, free New to Medicare class for individuals who are turning 65 years old and plan to enroll in Medicare, 10 a.m. to noon, the second Wednesday of each month, and 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Center for Older Adults, 800 Cheshire Road in Delaware. Meetings

Wild Ones, 10 a.m. May 11, at the Innis House in Inniswood Metro Park, 940 Hempstead Road, Westerville. The program will be "Growing Up to be a Wild One" with Barbara Kay Velez Barbosa. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for this event. Columbus Wild Ones members will be bringing plants, seeds and materials. Children and adults will be doing hands-on activities for which they should bring a small hand trowel and a pair of gloves. Seeds will be taken home and seedlings can be transplanted plant into their flower beds. Information on creating a Monarch Waystation and how to maintain it to attract butterflies also will be available. Children will receive a free poster.

Powell Liberty Historical Society, 7 p.m. May 13, at the Martin-Perry House on Powell Road at Grace Drive. Barbara Brown will present a program on Ohio farm life during the mid-1800s. Brown has experience as an interpreter for the Ohio Village. For information, call 614-889-1182.

Support groups

DivorceCare Support Group, a 13-week program that uses videos and group discussions to help work through the issues of divorce and begin the healing process, 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Aug. 5 at Heritage Christian Church, 7413 Maxtown Road, Westerville.
