Powell/Olentangy: Five Powell residents report vehicle break-ins

Powell police are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins reported between 5:30 and 8 p.m. June 15.

Five separate victims whose homes are near the 600 block of Broadsworth Court in the Chase subdivision reported items stolen from vehicles parked in driveways. The stolen items, together valued at $433, include driver's licenses, debit and credit cards, cash, a wallet, a purse, a gym bag, an MP3 player and a watch.

According to police reports, some of the vehicles were un-locked, but those that weren't were broken into through shattered windows.

Broken glass also was a sign of theft June 13 at a hair salon in the 8000 block of Moreland Street. After the salon's business hours, the glass of its front door was broken and a 42-inch television and $200 in cash were stolen, according to reports.

 

Sheriff's reports

* Property was stolen between 4:52 and 5:49 p.m. May 18 from the garage of a residence in the 4000 block of Ayshire Court in Powell, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.

Someone forced entry and stole a handbag and a power washer, according to reports.

* A man said someone stole his car between midnight and 7 a.m. May 1 from the parking lot outside his residence in the 3900 block of Greensview Drive.

* The rear window was smashed out of a vehicle between 8 and 9 p.m. May 17 while it was parked in the 5200 block of Schuette Drive, with damages estimated at $300, sheriff's reports said.

* A woman said the exterior of her home in the 3600 block of Hollenback Road in Lewis Center was vandalized between 8 a.m. May 25 and 8:23 p.m. May 31. The victim returned home to find what appeared to be marks on the side of her home made by BBs shot at the house, according to reports.

A neighbor is a suspect in the case, reports said.

* A cellphone was stolen between 10 p.m. May 25 and 7 a.m. May 26 from a car parked outside a residence in the 2100 block of Parklawn Drive in Lewis Center, reports said.

* Property worth $175 was stolen between midnight and 8 a.m. May 26 from a vehicle parked outside a residence in the 5900 block of Cheyenne Creek in Lewis Center, sheriff's reports said. Stolen items include a leather purse and two pairs of sunglasses.
