Village Academy senior Natasha Desai spent a recent week at her own summer camp, teaching young (pre-kindergarten) campers about growing fruits and vegetables.
The camp, based at the community garden at Village Academy's Griffin Hall, was part of Desai's Capstone project.
VA Capstone projects are in-depth research projects required of Upper School students. The four-year projects are based on topics of interest and include a research paper, field work and application.
Desai's project is about the advantages of local and organic produce.
She is working with central Ohio experts to learn about organic farming and systems in place to distribute local fruits and vegetables.
Desai will continue to work with Village Academy pre-kindergarten students throughout the 2013-2014 school year.
