Roundabout open at Smothers, Harlem roads

A new roundabout at the intersection of Smothers Road and Harlem Road opened for business on Sept. 19.

Franklin County engineer Dean C. Ringle and Delaware County engineer Chris Bauserman issued a statement about the roundabout, which opened three weeks ahead of schedule and is the first roundabout that connects two counties.

"To help the public become more familiar with the various traffic patterns, rules and general instructions of how to drive a roundabout, we have videos and safety guidelines available on our website, franklincountyengineer.org," Ringle is quoted as saying in a news release.

Funding for the $3 million project was provided by the Ohio Public Works Commission, Delaware County and Franklin County.
