Neighbors report burglaries

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded Oct. 11 to two break-ins in the 7000 block of Orange Station Loop in Lewis Center.

At 10:36 p.m., a resident called 911 to report a burglary in process. Reports said a suspect entered the home through the kitchen window. The man fled on foot when homeowners made their presence known and deputies were not able to locate the suspect, reports said. No items were reported stolen.

A neighbor reported that between 3:40 and 11:32 p.m., someone forced open the rear door of the home and stole $971 worth of items, including silver dollars and a coin jar that contained an estimated $300, reports said.

In other recent sheriff's reports:

* Between 10:56 p.m. Oct. 10 and 3:08 a.m. Oct. 11, a home in the 300 block of Highmeadows Village Drive in Powell was ransacked and $825 worth of gold jewelry was stolen, reports said. The back door of the home was broken to gain entry, according to reports.

* Tools valued at $4,940 were reported stolen from a business in the 200 block of Orange Point Drive in Lewis Center. The tools were taken between 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 and 7:20 a.m. Oct. 14, reports said.
