Powell police are seeking a suspect in a burglary Monday morning, Jan. 13, at a downtown jewelry store.
The owner of Kimberly’s Diamond Corner, 1 N. Liberty St., reported the theft of an estimated $10,000 worth of gold necklaces Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 14. The burglary occurred about 9:55 a.m. Jan. 13 while the business was closed.
Police said the suspect was a white man, weighing between 230 and 250 pounds, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. The suspect was wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt at the time of the burglary, according to police.
Powell police Detective Darren Smith said police are analyzing fingerprint, DNA and security-video evidence recovered from the scene. He said the department would release an image of the suspect shortly.
