* Native Gardens, 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 Liberty Road. Preservation Parks naturalists will describe how to add to landscapes plants that will attract birds and butterflies and provide food sources for them. Participants should bring a drawing or blueprint of their yards to learn which plants are best suited for their particular growing conditions. They will leave with a garden plan. Breakfast is included, and children are welcome to accompany their parents. There is a $5 materials fee. Register by Jan. 24.
* Scavenger Hunt on the Farm, noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, and Sunday, Jan. 19. Explore the farmhouse and outbuildings to discover items that played useful roles on 1930s and 1940s farms.
