The Delaware post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a car crash that killed three people in northeastern Delaware County.
About 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, James W. Wyatt III, 33, of Marion was driving east on state Route 229 near Horseshoe Road in Oxford Township when his Chrysler Sebring left the road and struck a tree, according to the highway patrol.
Wyatt III, Elizabeth A. Wyatt, 28, and Isabella Zinsmaster, 8, were killed in the crash, and a third passenger, Jessica I. Wray, 22, was flown to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center by medical helicopter for treatment, according to the patrol.
None of the car's occupants were wearing seat belts, according to the patrol. Alcohol was not suspected to be a factor in the crash, and troopers currently are investigating whether road or weather conditions played a role in the incident.
