Powell/Lewis Center: Thief takes donated cash from business

An unknown suspect made away with donations meant for a charity last week in Liberty Township.

A business in the 3700 block of Discovery Lane reported a theft that occurred between 11:45 p.m. Feb. 2 and 4:15 a.m. Feb. 3. The owner of the business told Delaware County Sheriff's deputies that someone broke into a charitable donation box and stole $150 cash.

The damage to the metal and plexiglass donation box was estimated at $200, according to reports.

In other recent county sheriff's reports:

• A man reported a burglary that occurred between 5 p.m. Feb. 4 and 6 p.m. Feb. 5 in the 2400 block of Bold Venture Drive in Lewis Center. A tablet computer valued at $640 and $2,000 in cash were taken from the residence, according to sheriff's reports.

• A woman reported a theft that occurred between noon and 5 p.m. Jan. 29 in the 10100 block of Juliana Circle in Liberty Township. The woman said several items, including $450 cash and a check for $6,500, were taken from her purse.


• A woman reported to Powell police someone shot out her car window between 5:30 p.m. Feb. 5 and 9:15 a.m. Feb. 6 while it was parked in the 300 block of Ridge Side Drive.

• Police responded to a burglary in progress at about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 4 in the 300 block of Shyanne Drive, according to reports. An unknown suspect used force to enter the front door, police said.
