The Candle Lab closed its Powell store Sunday, Feb. 23, after three years in business, but its owner said the three other Columbus-area locations would remain open.
Candle Lab co-owner Steve Weaver wrote on the business' website that he and his wife, Katesha, were closing the Powell store in order to have more family time and focus on improving the central Ohio chain's other locations. He wrote that closing the 14 E. Olentangy St. location was not an easy call.
"As parents and local business owners, there are only so many hours in the day," Weaver wrote. "Two beautiful little girls and a long list of ambitious changes on the horizon for the company means that we have make some tough choices about things to remove from our plate."
The business, which sells pour-your-own scented candles and other fragrance products, has locations in Grandview, the Short North and Worthington.
Customers who did not pick up orders before the store closed can collect their candles next door at Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, 8 N. Liberty St., according to the Candle Lab's website.
