Missing Powell restaurateur found

Genoa Township police announced Tuesday night, April 8, that a missing Powell business owner had been located alive and safe.

William “Bill” Thomas was reported missing by his wife Sunday, April 6, after he did not return home from his restaurant, Anne’s Kitchen Southern Style, in Powell.

Police announced at about 10 p.m. April 8 that Thomas had been found.

According to a press release from the Genoa Township Police Department, the department will not release more details on the matter out of respect for the family’s privacy.

Delaware County law-enforcement agencies are looking for a missing business owner who might have been seen at a Powell supermarket.

William “Bill” Thomas, 64, left his restaurant, Anne’s Kitchen Southern Style, 240 N. Liberty St., in Powell, before 4 p.m. Sunday, April 6. He had called his wife about the same time and told her he would be home shortly, according to Genoa Township police. Genoa police Lt. Russ Ciballi said police think Thomas left the restaurant at about 4 p.m. and drove to Giant Eagle, located at the intersection of Powell Road and Sawmill Parkway in Powell, to fill prescriptions.

Ciballi said Tuesday, April 8, that there have been no confirmed sightings of Thomas since his trip to the supermarket.

Thomas’ wife reported him missing after he did not return home Sunday night.

He was last seen driving a silver Ford Focus with the license plate FUL4953, according to police. Police described Thomas as 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 200 pounds with spiky gray hair. He was dressed in a white polo shirt, khaki pants and white shoes Sunday afternoon. Thomas walks with a limp. He also suffers from diabetes.

Genoa Township police have asked anyone with information on the case to call 740-833-2800.

Genoa Township police Chief Stephen Gammill said William “Bill” Thomas, 64, was last seen around 4 p.m. April 6 at Anne’s Kitchen Southern Style, 240 N. Liberty St. in Powell. He had called his wife about the same time and told her he would be home shortly.
