Reading earns fire department honor

Genoa Township trustees recently recognized and swore in three Junior Firefighters.

To earn the honor, the three local second-graders won an April reading contest sponsored by the Genoa Township Fire Department, as part of National Literacy Month.

The three students were Isaac Leigh from Alcott Elementary School in Westerville schools, who read 1,325 minutes; Laura Richards from Fouse Elementary School in Westerville schools, who read 2,355 minutes; and Nicholas Struntz from Walnut Creek Elementary School in Olentangy schools, who read for 1,186 minutes.
