Ohio State University Alumni Club of Delaware County, annual ice cream social for incoming OSU freshmen, 7 to 8 p.m. July 22, at the shelter house at McNamara Park. Operation Christmas Child, OCC Project Leader Enrichment Event, 9:30 to 11 a.m. July 19, at Centerpoint Church, 7750B Green Meadows Drive, Lewis Center. OCC volunteers will teach participants how to bring the program to their church or organization, explain the filling of shoeboxes with gifts for children and share stories of how they touch the lives of the children receiving them around the world. First Miles for Smiles 5K Run/Walk, presented by North Orange Family Dentistry, 8 a.m. July 26, at Adventure Park in Powell. Cost is $30 in advance, $35 the day of the race. Medals will be given to the top three men and top three women in five age categories. The proceeds of the race will benefit the Free to Smile Foundation, dedicated to supporting and sustaining comprehensive, quality surgical and dental services to poor and underprivileged children and adolescents throughout the world. Make-A-Wish, 15th Annual Medical Mutual Columbus Walk For Wishes, 10 a.m. July 26, at McFerson Commons, Arch Park, 218 West St., Columbus. Registration starts at 9 a.m., with families taking part in a one- or three-mile scenic walk to help grant wishes for children battling life-threatening medical conditions. Music and food will be available at the event's conclusion. Walkers also have the opportunity to meet current and past wish families and experience the magic of a wish come true. Rock and Bounce, a family-friendly fundraising event for Orphan World Relief, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 6, at Super-Games, 535 Lakeview Plaza Blvd. in Worthington. The evening will include unlimited access to inflatable bounces, rock climbing walls, laser tag, live music and concessions. All of the proceeds will benefit Orphan World Relief, a Worthington-based 501(c)(3) organization that helps at-risk children around the world where there are few social services. Classes and workshops
Dublin Community Recreation Center, weekly line dancing class for beginners, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Sundays, 5600 Post Road. This class will introduce people of all ages to modern social line dancing, with no line dance experience necessary. Cost is $3 per class. This class is being offered in addition to a Beginner/Improver class from 1 to 3 p.m. Fridays and a more advanced class at 2 p.m. Sundays. Music for this class is not limited to country alone.
