At 4:30 a.m. Friday, July 25, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbus Division of Police apprehended 38-year-old Kenyatta M. Keeno, of East Broad Street in Columbus, behind Aficionado’s, a wine, craft beers and cigar shop at 8909 S. Old State Road, just north of Polaris Parkway.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, two Columbus police officers noticed suspicious activity inside Aficionado’s. Shortly thereafter, the officers and sheriff’s deputies located Keeno hiding in a Dumpster behind the shop in a strip center. He was unarmed and was taken into custody without incident.
Keeno is charged with breaking and entering and possessing criminal tools, both felony charges, as well as the misdemeanor charge of criminal damaging/endangering.
No details of what was taken in the burglary were provided.
He was being held at the Delaware County jail Friday morning, awaiting arraignment.
The sheriff’s office said deputies believe Keeno also may be responsible for a burglary earlier Friday morning at Kohinoor Indian Cuisine, 76 W. Powell Road, about a mile west of Aficionado’s.
Keeno was arrested and found guilty of similar charges in Powell last fall, the sheriff’s office said. He served 180 days in the Delaware County jail and was released in March 2014.
