Powell/Lewis Center: Lewis Center residents report smashed car windows

Sheriff's reports

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office is investigating multiple recent cases involving damage to vehicles in Lewis Center.

Deputies responded about 6 a.m. July 11 to a report of vandalism that occurred earlier that morning in the 2800 block of Abbey Knoll Drive in Lewis Center. An unknown suspect damaged a vehicle's windshield and front passenger door with a crowbar, according to sheriff's reports.

In other incidents:

• A woman reported someone stole her purse after shattering her car's window between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. July 11 in the Alum Creek Below Dam Area in the 4100 block of Lewis Center Road. An unknown suspect stole a purse valued at $300 that contained multiple credit cards, according to sheriff's reports.

• A woman reported someone smashed one of her car's windows and stole her purse between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. July 12 near the intersection of Lewis Center Road and Woodstone Drive. The purse is valued at $50, reports said.

In other recent sheriff's reports:

• An unknown suspect took multiple tools from a construction site in the 1200 block of Rissler Lane in Liberty Township, according to sheriff's reports.

A concrete saw with a diamond blade, an electric hammer, an electric saw and a cordless drill, together valued at $1,850, were stolen in the July 3 incident, reports said.

• An unknown suspect used a fraudulently obtained credit card to buy $1,454 worth of building materials from a business between July 14 and 15 in the 8700 block of Owenfield Drive in Orange Township, according to sheriff's reports.

• A woman reported a theft that occurred between 11 and 11:30 p.m. July 11 at Zoombezi Bay, 10101 Riverside Drive in Liberty Township. A cellphone valued at $400 and clothes were stolen by an unknown suspect, according to sheriff's reports.

• Powell police investigated a report of an open door at a business in the 10500 block of Sawmill Parkway shortly before 9 p.m. July 12.

Officers discovered the door had been forced open and graffiti was drawn on an interior wall, according to police reports.

• An unknown suspect stole a license plate from a vehicle between 8:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. July 17 in the 4400 block of Hickory Rock Drive, according to police reports.

• A man reported his credit card was stolen and used after it was taken from his vehicle between 11 p.m. July 13 and 4:45 a.m. July 14 in the 700 block of Woods Hollow Lane.
