Sophomore forward Aidan Bean scored in the 38th minute and junior forward Jared Robinson scored in the 74th minute to lift the Olentangy Liberty High School boys soccer team to a 2-0 victory over visiting Olentangy Orange in a non-league game Thursday, Aug. 25.

"When we counter, that's when we are the most dangerous," said Bean, who scored on a shot just to the left of Orange goalkeeper Zach Arefi. "We have three forwards plus a midfielder bringing (the ball) up the field. We have many options and that's what led to the goal."

It was the opener for both teams and the first victory for first-year Liberty coach Rick Collins.

Liberty evened the series between the programs at 1. Last season, Orange beat Liberty 4-1 and then won 17 of its next 19 before losing to Centerville 2-1 in a Division I state semifinal.
