Olentangy High School athletics director Jay Wolfe soon will have three more coaching vacancies to fill as 11th-year baseball coach Steve Little and sixth-year softball coach Marty Mearhoff have announced they will step down after this season.

Mearhoff also has resigned as field hockey coach after three seasons.

"(Little) told me he would be stepping down at the end of this season a month ago, but he asked me to keep it quiet so his kids could concentrate on baseball," Wolfe said. "He's been doing this for 29 years and it's just that time for him to do something else. Marty has a grandchild coming and it was the right time to step away to spend more time with family."

Olentangy also is searching for boys soccer and wrestling coaches.

Dave Sebek recently resigned after nine seasons as boys soccer coach to spend more time with his family.

Matt Hammons also recently stepped down as wrestling coach after nine seasons to spend more time with his 3-year-old son.

"We'd like to fill these positions by early June," Wolfe said.
