The Olentangy and Olentangy Liberty high school gymnastics teams both will be represented by a freshman in the individual state meet Saturday, March 2, at Hilliard Bradley.
Olentangy's Emma Morgan qualified for state on floor exercise and Liberty's Katherine Faircloth advanced on balance beam. Morgan placed eighth (8.85) on floor in the district meet Feb. 23 at Worthington Kilbourne and Faircloth placed sixth on beam (9.0).
The top three teams and top nine finishers in each event and the all-around advanced to state. The team state meet is Friday, March 1, at Bradley.
Olentangy placed fifth (132.85) of 24 teams at district, behind state-qualifiers Kilbourne (140.625), Dublin Coffman (138.925) and Thomas Worthington (136.125) and fourth-place Dresden Tri-Valley (133.175).
Liberty placed 10th (130.475) and Orange finished 15th (118.9). The Pioneers did not have any individual state qualifiers.
