The Olentangy Orange High School hockey team leads the Capital Hockey Conference-Red Division entering the final weekend of the regular season.
The Pioneers are 10-0-2-1 in the CHC-Red with 23 points, followed by Dublin Jerome (8-1-4-1, 21), Liberty (7-2-5, 19), Dublin Coffman (7-6-1, 15) and Cincinnati Moeller (4-9, 8).
Orange is 20-4-3-1 overall, after tying Liberty at 2 on Jan. 24 and defeating DeSales 6-4 on Jan. 25, both at Chiller North.
Cameron Beck had 28 saves against Liberty and Mark Murley and Sean Murley scored.
Mark Murley scored twice against DeSales. Luke Buchy, Cole Essig, Coleman Metzger and Hunter Shepherd had one goal apiece and Beck had 19 saves.
Patriots tie three straight CHC games
Liberty tied Jerome at 2 on Jan. 26 at Chiller Dublin for its third consecutive 2-all tie.
The Patriots, who are 12-11-7 overall, also played 2-all ties against Orange on Jan. 24 and Coffman on Jan. 25, both at Chiller North.
Chris Bergamesca and Nick Kouskouris scored against Orange and Cam Perry had 32 saves.
Perry had 42 saves against Coffman and Ryan Gratz and Kouskouris had goals.
Cole Bumpass and Jack Gainor scored against Jerome and Perry had 45 saves.
Olentangy awaits game with Liberty
Olentangy, which is 12-13-2 overall and 6-7 in the CHC, did not play last weekend.
The Braves play Friday, Jan. 31, at Chiller North against Liberty. The teams have not played this season, but the Patriots won 10-0 last season.
Olentangy is third in the CHC-Blue at 6-7 with 12 points. Worthington Kilbourne (6-6-0-2) and Watterson (7-7) both have 14 points. Thomas Worthington (1-10-0-1, 3) is fourth and Dublin Scioto (0-14, 0) is fifth.
In CHC play, Dylan Ahonen has nine goals and Josh Seemann has seven. Austin Moore has scored six times, Nathan Hershiser has four goals and Brian Brown has six assists. Landon Diedrich has a .930 save percentage and Ryan Dop is at .875.
