Claire Wiles won and Emma Bower finished third in the Division I race of the Erin Nance Fall Distance Classic on Sept. 27 at London Country Club, leading the Olentangy Liberty High School girls cross country team to the title.

The Patriots, who were ranked 10th behind top-ranked Centerville in last week's Division I state poll, scored 49 points to win the 12-team race ahead of runner-up Gahanna (64).

Wiles (18 minutes, 54.81 seconds) finished just ahead of runner-up Carly Davis (18:55.07) of Dublin Jerome. Bower finished in 18:58.02.

Claire Linn was 13th (20:28.85) for Liberty, followed by Sarah Colvin (15th, 20:32.87), Autumn Lowder (17th, 20:43.08), Trinity Wiles (21st, 20:48.53) and Meghan Piero (24th, 21:02.07).

The boys team finished third (143) in the 32-team Pickerington North Panther Invitational on Sept. 27 behind Orange (71) and Lexington (98).

Cameron Lackey (10th, 16:44.7) led the Patriots, followed by Luke Wojciechowski (20th, 17:10.0), Ryan Milligan (35th, 17:21.2), John Ropchock (40th, 17:27.1), Kian Worcester (41st, 17:27.1), Mitchell Towne (49th, 17:36.3) and Quinn Pollock (64th, 17:57.5).

Braves win boysrace in London

The Olentangy boys team totaled 55 points to win the 11-team Division I race of the Erin Nance Fall Distance Classic ahead of runner-up Pickerington Central (71).

The Braves' Anthony Sasso finished second (16:32.35) behind Pickerington North's Zach Zimmerman (16:10.53). Charles Rodeheffer (sixth, 16:56.94) was next for Olentangy, followed by Alex Garner (13th, 17:22.74), Jacob Darsche (15th, 17:26.94), Tyer Azbell (19th, 17:31.59) and Daylan Sutton (20th, 17:33.11).

The girls team finished fourth (85) led by Melina Endsley (fifth, 20:02.29). Chloe Murdock (eighth, 20:19.22) was next for the Braves, followed by Claire Hardesty (ninth, 20:19.67), Katie Slyh (31st, 21:36.03), Camryn Stobart (32nd, 21:40.62), Gillian Sapp (33rd, 21:48.15) and Ashton Benson (36th, 21:59.32).

Pioneers win boysrace in Pickerington

Brandon Lane led the Orange boys team to its win at Pickerington North, finishing third (16:48.9) behind Lexington's Nick Stricklen (16:15.7) and Cardington's Jacob Long (16:20.3).

Hunter Moore (fifth, 16:27.3) was next for Orange, followed by Brandon Morrow (11th, 16:51.4), Kyle Benecke (16th, 17:01.1), Matt Hartzell (37th, 17:23.9), Tommy Heiden (47th, 17:34.4) and Jack Schiefelbein (57th, 17:45.5).

The girls team was seventh (212) in the Erin Nance Fall Distance Classic, led by Anna Dove (23rd, 20:58.41). Hannah Dieker (45th, 22:26.84) was next for the Pioneers, followed by Zoe Bond (46th, 22:33.83), Madison Clarkson (48th, 22:42.44), Rachel Porrello (50th, 22:50.99), Angel Frye (57th, 23:25.05) and Sam Nakayiza (63rd, 23:54.2).
