Cleveland-based KeyCorp will open its first its first bank in the city of Pickerington on Monday, Sept. 28.

The branch at 126 Postage Drive will also be the first KeyBank in Fairfield County.

"Fairfield County is growing and is an important market for KeyBank," said Robert Lane, president of Key's central Ohio district. "With the opening of the Pickerington branch, Key now has 33 branches, 45 ATMS and 250 employees in central Ohio."

The 2,100-square-foot Pickerington facility will operate out of a site formerly occupied by Sky Bank. It's expected to employ six people locally, and will feature flat-panel video screens showing images from the local community, two drive-through teller windows, a 24-hour drive-up ATM, night deposit boxes and Saturday banking.

"The Pickerington community is a growing area and we want to be able to serve our Pickerington Key clients more conveniently, as well as be able to help the financial needs of the Pickerington community," said Mary Persichetti-Gallegos, manager of Pickerington KeyBank branch. "I live in Pickerington and grew up here and I am so excited to be working in the community I live in.

"The Pickerington branch has a very talented staff that all either grew up in Pickerington or Fairfield County or live here currently."

A ribbon-cutting ceremony with city officials and Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce president Helen Mayle is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30.

An Oct. 3 tailgate party also is slated from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the branch. Guests can register to win prizes, enjoy food and beverages and meet former Ohio State University quarterback Todd Boeckman.
