Brubaker thanks
parade organizers

To the editor:

I had the great honor of serving as grand marshal of the Pickerington July Fourth parade.

The parade gets bigger and better each year and it was a big thrill to head up the parade. Before, during and after the parade, there were a number of people who were very helpful in making the event a lot more enjoyable for me and my wife, Lovetta.

I want to thank Mayor Mitch O'Brien, recreation coordinator Dan Ross and all those involved in my selection as grand marshal.

Many helped Central
marching band camp

To the editor:
The Pickerington High School Central Marching Tigers just completed a great week of band camp at Diley Middle School.

With the heat and humidity, having camp at the middle school due to high school renovations, and everything that goes into making this a successful week and the start of our 2011 marching band season, I would like to thank those that helped us. Thanks to the band staff and Diley staff.

To our families and friends for their time and support as they helped with meals, sewed uniforms, kept the kids hydrated and cooled off, sold pop at lunch, helped in many different ways, I thank you.

Thanks to the Violet Township Fire Department for misting the kids everyday, to cool them off. Thanks to Chipotle, Raising Caines and Pepsi for donating food and drinks for our senior lunch. To the Buccilla family, although the weather prevented us from an evening at Hickory Lakes, I thank you. To those I missed, I thank you, too. We couldn't have done it without all of you.
