The city of Pickerington's inaugural Merry Mile event, held Dec. 15 in the Olde Village, was a success, with more than 150 people participating, organizers said.
The event was a one-mile fun run/walk designed to get people exercising and out for an evening with their families.
After the run/walk, participants enjoyed music, hot chocolate and popcorn at Victory Park.
Santa Claus was also on hand to visit with the youngest Merry Mile participants.
Prizes were given to those donning the best holiday attire.
The trio of Elaine, Bridget and Lydia Torti won first place and Melissa Woodward was awarded the second place prize.
"This event will definitely become a new Pickerington tradition," Mayor Lee Gray said.
Photos from the event and more information can be found on Facebook at City of Pickerington, city officials said.
