Wayne Campbell, founder and president of Tyler's Light drug education and awareness program and whose son Tyler, a 2007 graduate of Pickerington High School North, died of a drug overdose in 2011, asks for a moment of silence in memory of his son and area drug-overdose victims Cole Smoot, Marin Riggs and Ben Corcoran during the organization's town hall-meeting at Pickerington High School North on Jan. 28. The meeting follows the nonprofit organization's successful 2012 "Speak Up, Save a Life" awareness campaign, in which more than 14,000 students from throughout Ohio were educated about the dangers and repercussions of drug abuse and addiction. Monday's meeting was intended to set the tone for an aggressive agenda for this year, which will include the launching of a targeted fundraising campaign for Tyler's Lighthouse, a proposed meeting/recreation center the organization is planning to build in Pickerington.
