The Pickerington High School North Band Boosters will host an annual comedy show to benefit the Marching Panthers.

Saturday, Feb. 9, the fifth annual PHS North Band Boosters Comedy Show is planned for North's Performing Arts Center, 7800 Refugee Road.

Tickets for the event, which will feature appetizers and two comedy acts, will be available at the door or can be purchased in advance from band members.

"The tickets are $15 each," said Julee Eing, a PHS North Band Boosters Club member.

"(Proceeds) go toward individual band students' accounts and to the general band fund," Eing said.

"The band will be traveling to the Fiesta Bowl this year, and this helps the students raise money for their trip."

Doors to this year's comedy show will open at 7 p.m.

At 8 p.m., the show will start with an opening act by David Crone, a former Fortune 500 executive turned comedian, ventriloquist and magician.

Following Crone will be Columbus comedian and magician Michael Kent.

Kent studied communication, linguistics and theater at the Ohio State University and has studied at the world-famous Second City comedy theater in Chicago.

He has performed for audiences throughout the world from The Magic Castle in Hollywood to U.S. troops serving overseas in South Korea.

He also has performed at hundreds of colleges throughout the country and is an author.
